The Finches are comprised of Perry and Tina Finch, veterans of the Chicago music scene. Perry is a past member of Vambo Marble Eye, and was part of the original Caboose line up. He also penned and released a collection of music under the moniker Dick Bradish. Before moving to Chicago, Perry played bass and wrote songs for the Toledo based band, Art School. Tina Finch is a drummer/singer/songwriter for the band Smitten, which is currently gearing up to come out of their 3 year long hibernation. Smitten released a CD entitled Champion Do! in 2001. Tina, otherwise known in the Chicago theater community as Kristina Martin, has been acting in Chicago for ten years.
After the release of Whiskey January in 2001, the Finches played many venues around Chicago such as Uncommon Ground, The Beat Kitchen, The Edgewater Lounge, and Schuba's for a highly successful CD release party. Since then they have not returned to the studio but plan to do so in 2004. They currently are making appearances at coffee houses and clubs around the city.
Son of Oneshot, the Finches debut release in 2000, is an accurate representation of their live performance, featuring two voices, acoustic guitar, and the occasional harmonica.
